Benefex Financial Solutions joins GRiD

Press release 31 October 2022.

Benefex Financial Solutions, the regulated arm of the Benefex Group – the company behind the employee experience platform OneHub, has joined GRiD to ensure it is able to provide the most current group risk insight to its UK clients. With a large portfolio of clients and long-standing relationships with numerous benefits providers, Benefex Financial Solutions is also seeking to contribute back to what it considers an exciting and growing industry.

GRiD’s research and data will ensure Benefex remains at the forefront of the industry, aware of developments in legislation and regulation; and networking opportunities will give Benefex the ability to share knowledge with other experts in the field.

Of particular importance to Benefex is GRiD’s Training Academy which will encourage staff to build their expertise and meet learning and development goals for career development purposes, as well as helping them to deliver a first-class service to clients.

Stephen Hackett, Head of Corporate Benefits, Benefex said: “We are delighted to join GRiD and see this as an important step that positions us at the forefront of industry developments. This industry rarely stands still, so we recognise that it’s important to be a participant and not a bystander as group risk evolves. We look forward to contributing to this collective voice for the industry.”

Paul White, chair of GRiD said: “We’re really pleased to have Benefex on board. While we offer a great number of resources, an additional benefit of being a member is the meeting of great minds to discuss, promote and enhance the status and uptake of corporate group protection benefits.

“Almost all providers and reinsurance companies currently writing UK group risk business are members of GRiD, and a significant number of group risk advisers and suppliers too, making membership ever more valuable.”

About GRiD

Group Risk Development (GRiD) is the industry body for the group risk sector, promoting the value to UK businesses of providing financial protection for their staff, enhancing their wellbeing and improving employee engagement. Our membership includes insurers, reinsurers, intermediaries and those operating in (or with other interests in) the UK group risk market. Together this forms a collective wealth of experience built over many years. Under the chairmanship of Paul White (head of technical, Howden Employee Benefits & Wellbeing) GRiD aims to promote group risk through a collective voice to Government, policymakers, stakeholders and employers.

GRiD works with government departments and regulators involved in legislation and regulation affecting group risk benefits, and with other organisations involved in the benefits and financial protection arenas. GRiD also seeks to enhance the industry’s standing by encouraging best practice and by participating in industry-wide initiatives such as the professional qualification in group risk managed jointly with the Chartered Insurance Institute.

GRiD’s media activity aims to generate a wider awareness and understanding of group risk products and their benefits for employers and employees.

GRiD’s dedicated spokesperson, Katharine Moxham, provides expert media comment on a full range of group risk issues.
