PIB Employee Benefits joins GRiD

Press release 18 February 2019.

PIB Employee Benefits (‘PIB EB’) has joined Group Risk Development (GRiD), the trade body for the group risk industry.

PIB Employee Benefits, which is part of the PIB Group, believes that GRiD membership will position the company at the forefront of industry developments and to continue to provide future-proofed benefits and support to their clients.

Rebecca Rann, Senior Employee Benefits Consultant - Health & Risk, PIB Employee Benefits said: “We see GRiD as an important forum for sharing ideas and driving the group risk agenda forward. This valuable insight will further support us in raising important issues and influencing the market to assist employers to achieve the most from their benefits package now and in the long term.”

Steve Bridger, chairman of GRiD said: “With government increasingly recognising that group risk products are useful tools in helping employers meet their wellbeing duty of care to employees, it’s an exciting time for PIB EB to be joining GRiD. Collectively we need to maximise the opportunities that are presented to help both employers and individuals benefit from greater levels of financial protection, and to do that we need forward-thinking members like PIB EB to contribute towards the discussion.”

PIB Group launched in 2015 and has grown rapidly through acquisitions and by employing individuals with a wealth of knowledge and experience in the specialist markets within which PIB operates. The PIB Employee Benefits division structures benefits and services to help meet the needs of employees and people initiatives within the client’s business, such as on absence management and wellness.

About GRiD

Group Risk Development (GRiD) is the industry body for the group risk protection sector, promoting the value to UK businesses of providing financial protection for their staff, enhancing their wellbeing and improving employee engagement. Our membership includes insurers, reinsurers and intermediaries who have a collective wealth of experience built over years of operating in the group risk protection market. Under the chairmanship of Steve Bridger (MD Group Protection, Corporate, Aviva UK Insurance) GRiD aims to promote group risk through a collective voice to Government, policymakers, stakeholders and employers.

GRiD works with government departments and regulators involved in legislation and regulation affecting group risk benefits, and with other organisations involved in the benefits and financial protection arenas. GRiD also seeks to enhance the industry's standing by encouraging best practice and by participating in industry-wide initiatives such as the professional qualification in group risk managed jointly with the Chartered Insurance Institute.

GRiD’s media activity aims to generate a wider awareness and understanding of group risk products and their benefits for employers and employees.

GRiD's dedicated spokesperson, Katharine Moxham, provides expert media comment on a full range of group risk issues.
