Press release 17 October 2016

Towergate Health+ has become a member of Group Risk Development (GRiD). Group Risk is a key focus for the company. They have recently appointed Terry Fromant to head up their Group Risk offering and are keen to join forces with the organisation with a particular view to inform and educate employers about the benefits of group risk.

Terry Fromant, group risk and protection consultant for Towergate Health+ said: ‘The focus that GRiD provides for the issues and importance of group protection is much needed and highly valued within our industry and I’m looking forward to getting involved.’

Towergate Health+ joins a growing number of businesses that are reaping the benefits of GRiD membership. This includes networking opportunities, events and access to key industry speakers. In addition, members have privileged access to information from the working groups, legal opinion, regulatory updates, consultation responses, good practice, detailed employer research and pan-industry claims data.

Lee Lovett, chairman of GRiD said, ‘As an organisation we represent advisers, providers and reinsurers operating in the Group Risk market to provide a collective voice to Government, policymakers, stakeholders and employers; the more members we have the more representative we can be, and we’re very pleased to welcome Towergate Health+.’

About GRiD

Founded in 1998, Group Risk Development (GRiD) encourages awareness and uptake of corporate group protection benefits – income protection, group life insurance and critical illness cover – on behalf of its members which include insurers, reinsurers and intermediary businesses. Under the chairmanship of Lee Lovett, CEO, Ellipse, GRiD aims to enhance the industry’s profile among media and stakeholder groups. The Group provides a collective voice to Government and participates in industry wide initiatives such as the qualification in Group Risk launched jointly with the Chartered Insurance Institute. In May 2009, the Group appointed its first dedicated spokesperson, Katharine Moxham, to provide expert media comment on a full range of group risk issues.
